Vincent grew up in the greater Frankfurt area in Germany.  After completing a carpentry apprenticeship, he followed an ancient tradition to extend his carpentry skills and horizons traveling several years across numerous countries as a journeyman carpenter.  During this time, Vincent gained an understanding for various approaches on carpentry and different challenges people face in other circumstances. His curiosity let him to go back to school for Timber Engineering in Rosenheim, Germany supporting the practical experience with theoretical knowledge. A Masters degree for Civil Engineering from Hamburg, Germany was obtained while teaching Carpentry classes in the vocational training centre Lüneburg. After completing his degree,  Vincent was able to extend his experience and knowledge working for different consulting and construction firms that worked on various timber Projects spanning Europe, North America and Asia.

Vincent founded Tie in Timber to give engineers additional tools at hand to design beautiful structures and builders to be able to efficiently install them.
